The Erudite is a race of class and knowledge. They prefer alternatives to hand-to-hand combat and would rather avoid brute force. They excel in their social abilities and gracefulness, and have almost no physical practices. There are not many that befriend the Erudite because of their attitudes, but their powerful magic abilities are an asset to all.

The home of the Erudite is in the city of Erudin on Odus. There are no special race abilities for the Erudities and they do not have any night vision abilities. Their main strength is in their magic abilities as they can become a Wizard, Cleric, Magician, Enchanter, Necromancer and even a Paladin or a Warrior. The Erudite ally themselves to the gods Prexus and Quellious. The magic users of the Erudite have an affinity towards Solusek Ro, and the evil ones worship Cazic-Thule.

Erud, a great sage of old, was the creator of the Erudites. Tall and slender, the Erudites focus on intellectual advancement throughout their whole lives. They are descendents of the original humans on Norrath and inherited the best of human intelligence. The Erudites found their way to Odus, a small continent on the western part of the world, and live in isolation from the other races and study magic. Unique accomplishments with magic and study have understandably led the Erudites to believe that they are the most intellectually superior race on Norrath. They are known for their serious demeanor. There are two sections of the Erudites, those who choose to study the good side of magic, and those who drift off and study a darker side, Necromancy.
